Authenticity Simplicity
How to tell the difference between authentic Apple software and counterfeits
Reflective Apple logo
Authentic black Apple 10.3 Panther discs have a shiny transparent Apple logo that reflects light in multiple colors. Counterfeit discs do not display this feature.
Non-Edge Printing
Authentic Apple disc labels are not printed up to the edge of the disc. Counterfeit discs, which are produced at home on standard ink-jet printers, have labels with printing right up to the edges of the CD.
Precision Printing
Authentic Apple discs are professionally produced and manufactured to the highest standards & do not display jagged font edges and dust marks like those visible on counterfeit disc labels, which are often printed on home based ink-jet printers.
Bar Code on Disc
Authentic Apple discs have a bar code and Apple part number imprinted on the reverse side of the CD on the mirror band. Counterfeit discs do not display this feature.
Official License
Authentic Apple discs will include an official copy of the Software License Agreement. Counterfeiters are not able to provide original documentation.
